Every padel court is a package of consumable and structural materials: synthetic turf and silica sand that wear with play, tempered glass and steel that should last decades, and nets and fittings in between. This category lists the suppliers behind those components, whether you are specifying a new build or replacing parts of an existing court.

How often does padel turf need replacing?

Most clubs replace padel turf after roughly three to seven years, depending on hours of play, climate and maintenance. A busy indoor court with long opening hours wears far faster than a lightly used private court. Regular brushing and topping up sand extends life noticeably, so replacement cycles are partly in your control.

What kind of glass is used on padel courts?

Padel courts use tempered safety glass, most commonly 10 or 12 millimeters thick, sized to standard panel dimensions. Thicker glass flexes less and is generally specified for panoramic courts and competition venues. Always confirm the glass is certified tempered safety glass and that replacement panels in your exact size will be available years from now.

Which turf type should a club choose?

The main choices are fibrillated, monofilament and textured turf, filled with silica sand. Textured and monofilament products are common in commercial clubs for their consistent bounce and durability, while fiber weight and sand specification affect speed of play. Ask suppliers for the exact fiber type, pile weight and recommended sand quantity, and get samples before committing a multi-court order.

FAQ

Common questions

Why is silica sand used on padel courts?

The sand infill stabilizes the turf fibers, protects the backing and controls ball bounce and player footing. Courts need the sand level checked and redistributed regularly as play moves it around.

Can I replace only the turf and keep the structure?

Yes. Steel and glass usually outlast several turf cycles, so returfing an existing court is a standard job and far cheaper than a new court. Check the structure and anchoring at the same time.

What color turf is standard?

Blue is the most common color in commercial clubs, with green and terracotta also widely used. Color is mostly aesthetic, but darker colors can run hotter outdoors in strong sun.
