FAQ

Common questions

How many lux does a padel court need?

It rises with the level of play. Recreational and training play uses a lower target than club competition, and professional or broadcast play needs more again. Pick your level in the calculator to see the target.

How many floodlights does a padel court need?

A common layout uses an even number of LED floodlights placed in balanced pairs, often four to eight per court depending on the target lux and the fixture output. The calculator gives a rough count; a lighting designer confirms the exact layout.

Is this a lighting design?

No. It is a planning estimate from the target lux, the court area and typical fixture output. A supplier will produce a photometric design that accounts for mounting height, spill and uniformity.

Does indoor or outdoor change the lighting?

The target lux is driven by the level of play, but mounting differs: outdoor courts use masts or perimeter poles while indoor courts mount to the structure. Glare and light spill also matter more outdoors.
